P4

The feedback I was given aided me to improve many aspects of my script. For example, I didn't introduce the characters in the correct format, not giving them full names, and in fact I had capitalised the characters names in action lines throughout the rest of the script. Of course, after getting the feedback, I changed the script so that only when introducing the character where the names capitalised. For example instead of 'EDDY took his fedora', I changed it to 'Eddy took his fedora', as he has already been introduced. Therefore, this feedback was useful for me as I would have lost a lot of marks as the format was wrong throughout the script. Furthermore, on some occasions I made small, hard to spot mistakes, such as not using day or night in some slug lines, or accidentally leaving in some deleted text that was just sitting in a random place, such as 'Pause'. This feedback helped me perfect the script so that there were no mistakes at all, aiding me to produce a high quality script with the right format.

Thirdly, when first writing my script, I didn't understand how the continue (cont'd) worked, so in my feedback I was told where to put them exactly, to correct the format, so it aided me to analyse the script further, to not get caught out when the character continues to speak. One feedback given was to focus on the locations to show how characters exist and interact with their surroundings. As a result, I carefully added in some more action lines and parentheticals  to make the characters more convincing that they existed in my story. For example, on page ten, I added in more action lines of where Rose was positioned, to give her more interaction to her surroundings, using the 'show not tell' technique. Lastly, on page seven, I used too much dialogue when Andre was speaking, and it didn't make sense. After reviewing this part, I cut down the dialogue a bit, and corrected it to not be confusing for the reader/viewer.

Overall, my feedback was very useful for me as it pointed out mistakes that I could have left in without knowing. Without the feedback I would have struggled to spot the small mistakes that I missed out on, and the format would have not been of a high standard. However, I have now changed the script following the feedback given, and it definitely aided me to take more time to make the script look as correctly formatted as I could.
